Office
of the Mayor The community of Minden is incorporated as a political subdivision under the laws of the State of Louisiana. As a political subdivision of the State, the governing authority for the municipality is the Mayor and City Council. The Mayor serves as the Executive Branch of City Government; the five City Council members compose the Legislative Branch and make the laws; and the City Court is the Judicial Branch, which interprets the laws of the City. The State vests the local government with the powers designed to maintain order and promote the public welfare of those who live within the boundary of the city government's authority. This administration continuously strives to provide a safe and prosperous environment, but the future of our City is in all of our hands. Be a good citizen; get involved in school, church and community activities. Each of us can play a part in making Minden an even better place to live.
