The Public Works Department provides electrical service for 5,500 customers, maintains more than 100 miles of city owned streets, services 10 water wells and hundreds of miles of water mains, and operates 15 sewer lift stations for wastewater collection for more than 13,000 residents.
The city’s Electrical Transmission/Distribution Department assists citizens with voltage problems, project development and security lighting.
Streets & Drainage
Minden Streets and Drainage Department should be notified to report potholes, damaged streets or curbs, street sweeping needs, storm water drainage problems, problems at intersections, flooding, street sign problems and street closures.
Sidewalk Replacement Program
Property owners are responsible for maintenance of sidewalks. The city’s Sidewalk Replacement Program aids citizens by sharing the cost. Call the Public Works Department for more information.
The Water Distribution Department handles water main breaks, hydrant leaks or other water emergencies or non-emergency water matters. The annual water quality report is available for all customers.
Report any main breaks, sewer backup or any other sewer emergency to the 24-Hour Emergency Dispatch.
